After dinner and dessert, at about 11pm, we decided to try Durian... now, for those of you that don't know, Durian is a fruit that's very popular in Asia... it has a really pungent smell and unique taste... Even Andrew Zimmern from Lifestyle Channel's Bizarre foods couldn't eat it (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75vm9ik5pjo) … perhaps we were motivated by the fact that the Esplanades by the Bay are shaped like a Durian…

It was a bit of a mission, but we jumped in some cabs to Chinatown and followed our noses to a local Durian vendor... Lehi tried it first, and did quite well really… going back for a second try.

Then I tried it, the first taste wasn't fantastic (as you can tell by my face in the picture), but it actually got sweeter the more of it you ate but left a strange oniony after taste for quite a long time afterwards…
Jeremy and Sarah tried it as well and while they didn't tolerate it quite as well as we did, they managed not to dry heave or spit it out… unlike Clark and Jenna! (I have not posted photos... or the videos of them!)
Jeremy and Sarah headed home not long after the Durian experience, but Clark and Jenna and Lehi and I continued exploring the Chinatown night markets where we also tried some Pomelo… they are basically massive grapefruits… it cost $4 just for a small one…

After a bit more exploring, we decided to call it a night around 1am… believe it or not we were still tasting Durian even after a 1am cheeseburger and brushing our teeth!
