ANZAC Day Dawn Service

April 25 is ANZAC Day in Australia and New Zealand and for Australians and New Zealanders the world over. It is a day where we commemorate our armed forces and the sacrifices they make in serving their countries, and particularly remember the sacrifice made by Australian and New Zealand solidiers at Gallipoli at dawn on 25 April 1915.

I am a pacifist and I strongly believe in honouring those who have served both past, present and future. One small way in which we express our gratitude and remember these noble and honourable people, is to wake up early one morning a year and take ourselves along to the dawn ANZAC Day service.

This morning we arose at 5am to grab a taxi to the Kranji War Memorial. The Kranji War Memorial has graves of thousands of Allied troops who were lost in the region during WWII.

It was a moving service and we were both so glad we decided to go... Lest we forget.
