Due to flight times, we ended up spending a night in Sandakan and we're glad we did! It's a little coastal town that has a great feel about it!
The NAK Hotel was basic but had an awesome roof top bar with a great view over the coastline and the city... we just managed to beat the rain to get a few photos!
On our flight back to KK, we passed Mount Kinabalu - the tallest peak in South-East Asia. Quite a few people we met on our travels had climbed her and it was amazing to think that they stood on the same summit we looked at while flying by!
