Pulau Ubin!

On Saturday morning, the weather looked fantastic so we made our way out to Changi Village Ferry Terminal and jumped on a bumboat to Pulau Ubin.
We thought this was a useful reminder... just in case you were feeling a little desperate:
As you can tell, the day started out dry and we were excited to hire some bikes and do some exploring around the island, which is largely jungle, reservoirs, old quarries and bike tracks...

About 10 minutes into our ride, the rain started to fall... a first it was just a little and we welcomed its refreshing cooling qualities... but then it got heavier, and heavier, and heavier... so we had to take cover and wait for it to pass. (Afterall, this is Singapore and the rain usually only lasts about 15 minutes... right?)

The rain seemed to stop, so we took off again... only for it to start about 2 minutes later... we grabbed some lunch at the waterside seafood restaurant and then called it a day...

Pulau Ubin was fantastic - Lehi and I liked it much better than Sentosa Island! It's largely untouched and has a great feel about it - you could be so much further from the hustle and bustle of the city. We really enjoyed getting drenched and exploring it... even if we didn't manage to see any monkeys... we would definitely spend more time there, but we had to get home, have a warm shower and set off for another destination in the afternoon...

  1. We missed the acrobatics as we didn't go all the way to Clark Quay so I'm glad you got to see them. Pulau Ubin looks great and I am excited to go there. Now I know how you get there too. :)
